Educating in Times of Conflict

In times of acute regional conflict, international schools must respond swiftly, not to take a political stance, but to safeguard student wellbeing, foster a sense of safety, and equip educators to lead calm and developmentally appropriate conversations. As many schools in the Middle East shift online and geopolitical events continue or intensify, schools can expect a range of student responses including fear, anger, distraction, grief, or confusion, along with a spread of misinformation and, on occasion, a rise in identity conflicts within the community.

Our work as educators remains grounded on what schools do best: providing care, consistency, and meaningful learning. The following resources, shared by TIE and other organizations, are offered to support schools as they navigate these moments and continue the essential work of caring for students and our communities.
