As a Leader, You Don't Have to Know It All

For over 30 years international school leaders, teachers, and counselors have come together for PTC professional learning experiences. Each day of every program begins with a “pearl of wisdom,” a “nugget of knowledge,” or a “gem of inspiration” from one of the participants. We are delighted to offer our readers around the world these powerful stories, insights, and strategies, all dedicated to our shared mission of ever more and better learning for our children.

In this Pearl, Brianne shares how leaning into vulnerability, not perfection, is the key to authentic leadership. Through heartfelt stories spanning student teaching abroad, launching a tutoring company in Nicaragua, and stepping into school leadership, she reminds us that real growth often starts with not feeling ready. Reflecting on her journey, Brianne recalls a pivotal moment when a mentor told her, “You will never know it all... that is not how leadership works.” With courage and compassion, she encourages us to lead right from where we are.
