Remembering a Remarkable Educator

It is with great sadness and a huge sense of loss that we share the news that Mike Pavlos, long- serving international educator for over five decades, passed away on 25 December 2024.  We especially honor him here in TIE for his many years of service as a board member of our Overseas Schools Assistance Corp., the overarching non-profit for both TIE and the Principals’ Training Center (PTC).

(From left to right) TIE founder, Forrest Broman, with long time friend and OSAC board member, Mike Pavlos in the late 1980s.

Mike had a remarkable career in education as math teacher and international school director which took him and his family across the globe to Italy, Belgium, Poland, Kenya, Morocco, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and finally Cairo, Egypt.

His impact on international education and countless teachers and students across diverse cultures will long be felt. He has left a lasting and meaningful legacy.  We at TIE and the PTC are filled with gratitude for the privilege of working alongside him for over 35 years.  Go in peace, dear friend.
