In this pearl, Katherine shares her thoughts about reframing your mindset and not escaping your life. She says that the important lessons we learn should be pulled down and saved. One of her largest lessons learned is to live in the present and not wait for happiness to arrive by wishing away the moment. Mindfulness is so much more than meditation. It’s about enjoying the moment as it happens. She says, “living to get through everything stops you from seeing how valuable that moment really is.” She offers, instead of saying, “if I can just get through…”, what if we reframe to say, “if I can just be present.” Don’t wish away the now waiting for the future to come. Happiness is right there, right in front of us. “There’s no other secret…it’s just about your mindset.”
