Al Akhawayn School of Ifrane (ASI) is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Emmanuel Lacoste as the new Director and Head of School, effective May 22, 2023. Mr. Lacoste is a highly capable and experienced leader who has just completed several years as Head of School in California.

Mr. Lacoste, who holds dual U.S. and French citizenship, was born in France to an American mother and a French father. He has extensive experience as a teacher and administrator in international schools all over the world, including Spain, China, Mongolia, Indonesia, and Japan. He is also a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served as an infantry squad leader during peacekeeping operations in Haiti.

Mr. Lacoste's teaching philosophy emphasizes creating a safe environment for students to be challenged and inspired, with a focus on discovery learning and hands-on activities. He believes that schools are small communities where all stakeholders contribute to a shared vision, and he places a strong emphasis on building a sense of community and mutual trust.

Mr. Lacoste will be arriving in Ifrane with his family, including two children who will be students at ASI, on Thursday, May 18th. He is looking forward to exploring the natural beauty of Morocco and the Atlas Mountains.
