The Bali Island School Board of Directors are pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs Arden Tyoschin as Head of School for the start of School year 2027-2028, and warmly welcome her, and her husband Andrei, to the BIS community. The Board of Directors and the Search Committee are very pleased that Arden and Andrei felt welcomed into the BIS community, are excited about the work at BIS and accepted the job offer. In accepting the offer, Arden stated: ‘Andrei and I are very much looking forward to joining BIS. Our decision to accept the offer is rooted in my strong resonance with the school’s mission, vision and values, and, equally importantly, in the conversations I had with the many stakeholders I had the pleasure of meeting. I was impressed by the deep dedication to the school and the genuine desire to move forward together as a community. We look forward to seeing everyone in July 2027!’

In offering Mrs Arden Tyoschin the role, the Search Committee and Board of Directors were unanimous in their decision. Teaching and non-teaching staff, students, parents and other members of the BIS community participated in the extensive interview process and their strong feedback confirmed the Board’s decision to select Arden who could provide long-term leadership stability and bring broad, valuable experience to BIS.

The Board of Directors greatly appreciates the excellent work Dr Heather Millington (BIS Interim HoS) has initiated and continues to advance this school year. Her efforts have consolidated and strengthened the foundation established by Richard Reilly and Liam O’Shea, while implementing structures and systems that support a positive and sustainable direction for BIS aligned to their revised vision, mission and values.
