Recognized for his innovative and relationship driven approach, he was awarded the prestigious National Association of Elementary Schools Distinguished Principal Award in 2021. Dan has actively shared his expertise as a featured blogger for The International Educator for the past decade and teaches graduate-level courses on innovation and change management at Endicott College. His extensive experience spans leadership roles in international schools across Asia, Europe, and South America, including positions at the American School of Paris, Academia Cotopaxi American International School, Shanghai Community International School, and Jakarta Intercultural School. Dan is a passionate advocate for education and leadership development, as evidenced by his TEDx talk and contributions to the Blue Skies Leadership Podcast.

Daniel Mendes, a Canadian international educator, brings over two decades of experience in secondary education to his diverse roles, including his recent pursuit of ontological coaching. With 19 years in international schools across Russia, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, China, and currently Vietnam, Mendes specializes in technology transformation in education. He's passionate about collaborative learning environments, reflected in his 14 years of experience in instructional coaching and curriculum development, advocating for project-based learning and personalized technology integration. Beyond his leadership roles, Daniel achieved ontological coaching certification in 2024 through the Coaching for Personal and Professional Mastery program with Newfield Network Coaching. His coaching centers on client autonomy, collaborative growth, and the transformative potential of embracing challenges. Committed to lifelong learning, Daniel engages in professional development opportunities, while also prioritizing holistic well-being through practices like centering and exploring new hobbies.
