Its membership includes international schools from around the world as well as universities, organizations, and individuals who support AAIE’s mission and vision.
Designed to meet the diverse needs of its membership, AAIE endeavors through its many services to connect people, ideas, and resources worldwide. It does this by providing opportunities for professional development, personal growth, and networking, all with an emphasis on international school leadership.
Due to the upcoming retirement of the Executive Director, Elsa Lamb, who has served the Association with distinction since 2008, the opportunity now exists for an innovative and energetic leader to shape the future direction of AAIE as it considers the next phase of its long and strong history.

Key challenges for the successful candidate:
• Increase AAIE Membership in numbers and diversity

• Understand the professional development needs of international schools in a competitive PD environment and position AAIE to meet those needs
• Develop AAIE Seminars and increase both their visibility and enrollment
• Prepare for 50th anniversary (2016)
Minimum Qualifications:
• BA/BS degree
• Three to five years of leadership experience working in an Association environment or other similar executive position, such as a Head of School
• Extensive successful event management experience
• Experience with implementation and coordination of technology and social media
• Ability to work in an office environment and supervise a small team of employees
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability and willingness to travel
• Ability to develop innovations and translate these into concrete outcomes
Candidates should e-mail a letter of application and a current curriculum vitae/resume to the e-mail address below. The Search Committee reserves the right to contact the writers of any open testimonials that may be submitted for confidential statements.
It is expected that interviews for shortlisted candidates will take place at the AAIE Annual Conference in San Francisco in February, 2015.
