Why Don't Fun and School Align for Many Students?

Mealea Mang, a 15-year-old Cambodian student at Liger Leadership Academy in Cambodia, is the co-founder and first President of the Global Schools Alliance (GSA) student council. The GSA is “a virtual counsel led by students, for students with the sole purpose of empowering students to have a voice and contribute to making positive impacts on the world.” There are between 100 and 200 schools in the alliance and this presentation was sent to the teacher GSA rep in each participating school.

In this video, Mealea shares her perspective on the conventional classroom, establishing healthy classroom relationships, student ownership, and embracing flaws.
