Valencia. May 17, 2017 / American School of Valencia featured the latest events on technology and education held in Valencia (Spain). On May 13, this international school hosted an ASV Summit - Google for Education led by two Google Innovators: Mr. Kevin Tracy (Technology Integrator at the International School of Leipzig) and Mr. Samuel Landete (IT Coordinator and IT teacher at the American School of Valencia). A few days before this, Mr. Landete and two other ASV educators were invited speakers at an official meeting of the Google Educator Group - Spain, where they shared their experience on the use of G Suite for classroom management and how to increase student engagement by using mobile devices.
The ASV Summit - Google for Education was especially addressed to the ASV leadership team, teachers, and other school staff members. The summit included two itineraries offering hands-on, practical workshops on advanced uses of G Suite best-known tools (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Slides, among others) as well as the specific apps for Education such as Google Classroom. Participants also learned on educational uses of Youtube and Google Maps, services which have interesting features for engagement, collaboration, and new teaching practices. The ASV Summit is part of the professional development program started in 2015 which aims to train ASV staff on Google tools as well as help them on getting the official Google Educator certifications.
