WAB Partners to Open First Swiss School in Beijing
Western Academy of Beijing is proud to announce enrollment is now open for the Swiss School Beijing. A new partnership with the Association Swiss School Beijing, it will be the first Swiss School in China officially recognized by the Swiss government.

Beginning in the 2017–18 school year, the Swiss School Beijing will operate as a section of WAB, offering a Kindergarten (4 and 5 years old) class and a primary class (Grades 1 and 2), and will subsequently roll out a new class each year. Classes will initially be taught in German, with French being introduced in the second phase.

"The Swiss School Beijing will offer German-speaking students the opportunity to learn in their native language, situated uniquely within Western Academy of Beijing's innovative and diverse learning community," said WAB Director Courtney Lowe. "WAB exists to serve the educational needs of Beijing's international community, and we are excited to continue our tradition of making education accessible in many languages to serve our community."

Delivering an education that is based on Swiss curriculum within WAB's truly multicultural environment, the school will welcome children of Swiss and other nations, who are interested in a German-language education within an international community.

The 2017–18 kindergarten and primary classes will have a maximum of 16 children and will be taught by an experienced teacher with Swiss teaching qualification. Children will also have courses in English and can choose to join WAB's Chinese language program. The Swiss curriculum caters to speakers of all levels, from beginner through native.

The Swiss School Beijing's educational concept is to nurture:

• A spirit of exploration

• The motivation to learn

• Creativity and innovation

• Self-confidence and empathy

• Responsibility and reliability

• Respect for others and the environment
