Hisar School Band Wins 1st Place at San Remo

Hisar School Band, B-Side, participated in the GEF School Festival of Music finals on April 15-18 and won 1st place. B-Side, composed of 22 students, was invited to the finals in San Remo twice before and won 1st place in 2013.
Hisar School took 1st place in the 17th San Remo GEF School Festival of Music in Italy in the category of orchestra and covers for non-conservatory schools. Hisar School was one of 10 finalists to be invited to San Remo amongst schools from all around the world and won the Crystal Dolphin (1st place) award.
B-Side performed two songs this year: Toto’s rock classic "Hold the Line" and "Gocce di Memoria," a song from the soundtrack of Turkish film director Ferzan Özpetek’s film La Finestra di Fronte, singing in both English and Italian in front of the San Remo jury. B-Side performed "Hold the Line" once more after being announced as the winner.
Hisar’s pop-rock band B-Side, established in 2002, has taken home many national and international awards in its 13 years in existence.
