David Munro

International School of Beijing:  High School Principal

David Munro joins the International School of Beijing as High School Principal, for the 2015-16 school year. Originally from Canada, David moved to Beijing from Kuala Lampur, Malaysia, where he was Secondary School Assistant Principal at Mont’ Kiara International School. He joined Mont’ Kiara in 2007, teaching High School IB History and TOK for three years before being named IB Program Coordinator/CAS Coordinator in 2010, then being promoted to his Assistant Principal role in 2011. Prior to Mont’ Kiara, David worked in Lima, Peru for seven years at Colegio Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He taught Middle School Humanities for three years, was High School History/CAS Coordinator for four years, and in his final year in Lima was also High School Dean of Students. David began his overseas career in Guatemala, at Colegio American de Guatemala from 1995-1997 teaching Social Studies and English. Then moving to Venezuela, where he taught Social Studies and Physical Education between 1997-1999 at Escuela Las Morochas. David’s educational credentials include a Master’s in Secondary Education from the University of Alabama, a B.Ed. in Social Studies (minor in Phys Ed) from the University of Alberta, and certification in International Education Leadership from the Principal’s Training Center.
