ISG would like to announce the appointment of British School Dhahran Principal, Mr. Simon Fowler effective August 1, 2026.

Simon joins BSD with over 23 years of experience in international education, having held senior leadership and teaching roles in Thailand, China and Taiwan.

He is a passionate and values-driven leader with a strong track record of driving school improvement, supporting teacher development and enhancing student outcomes in diverse, multicultural settings.

Simon has served as a Whole-School Deputy Head, Vice-Principal and Head of Secondary, where he has led strategic initiatives in curriculum design, school accreditation, quality assurance and safeguarding. Simon has successfully led multiple school accreditation processes, developed and implemented impactful professional learning programmes and used data-informed strategies to drive improvement across all phases of education.

Simon’s connection to BSD is both personal and professional. He briefly attended the school in the late 1980s, then known as Dhahran Academy. While attending boarding school in the UK, he spent his school holidays in Al Khobar from 1988 to 1994, where his father worked for British Aerospace. These formative experiences inspired a lifelong passion for international education and a deep affection for the region. He is honoured to be returning to BSD, this time as a school leader.
