Mr. Ricardo Vieira is an educator committed to collaborative learning that engages students, staff, families, and the community in meaningful experiences. Creativity, compassion, and critical thinking are three values that Ricardo instills in his students every day. He has a Bachelor's degree in physical education from the University of Santo Amaro and a Master’s degree in education from Framingham State University. Ricardo is a Certified Athletics Administrator from NIAAA. Ricardo also holds a certification for International School Leadership from the Principals’ Training Center (PTC), and he is currently pursuing doctoral studies in International School Leadership. Ricardo is passionate about developing the best strategies to support teachers in building exceptional teaching and learning environments to enhance students’ experiences and achieve their full potential in school settings. Ricardo taught physical education at Graded School in Brazil and served as head of department and Athletics Director. He also served at an IB international school in Guangzhou before coming to Shenzhen as part of a founding team at BASIS. Ricardo is a distinguished leader who recognizes every child's potential; he believes that all kids can learn based on the stimulus and the environment. Ricardo is excited to bring more than two decades of international school experience to SGA, including teaching and leadership roles. Ricardo and his wife Tatiana are passionate about cooking, traveling, reading, and sports. They raise their boys Bruno and Felipe with a strong family foundation, growth mindset, and international mindedness.
