Robert van der Eyken has been appointed as the next Director of Academia Cotopaxi in Quito, Ecuador. During an international career of 26 years, Rob has been a teacher, coordinator, athletic director, principal, and head of school in Namibia, Mexico, China, Morocco, and North Macedonia. Originally drawn to education as a force for positive change in the world, Rob is very excited to join Academia Cotopaxi, an American International School that is fully dedicated to the concepts of inclusion, expanding its student population beyond what is normally the model of international schools, as well as environmental awareness and reducing our impact on the planet.
