Christopher Johnson has been appointed as the High School Principal at the American School of Valencia. Mr. Johnson comes to the American School of Valencia after serving as the Principal and Assistant Principal at the Academy of Math and Science in Phoenix, Arizona (USA). Prior to his work at the Academy of Math and Science, Mr. Johnson served as a Curriculum Coordinator in Abu Dhabi, and as an English teacher and teacher trainer in Sevilla and Salamanca, Spain. Mr. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English and Political Science from the University of Arizona, a Postgraduate Teacher Certification in Secondary Education from Pima Community College, a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Curriculum and Instruction from Plymouth State University, and a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Leadership from the University of Arizona. He holds multiple certifications as a Principal, English and Social Studies Teacher, an International Baccalaureate (IB) Certificate in Teaching and Learning from Bethel University, and a CELTA certification to teach English as a foreign language. In addition, he is proficient in Spanish.
