Pearls of Wisdom: Communicating and Avoiding Assumptions

For over 30 years international school leaders, teachers, and counselors have come together for the Principals' Training Center (PTC) professional learning experiences.  Each day of every program begins with a 'pearl of wisdom', a 'nugget of knowledge', or a 'gem of inspiration' from one of the participants.  We are delighted to offer our readers around the world these powerful stories, insights, and strategies, all dedicated to our shared mission of ever more and better learning for our children.

In this Pearl of Wisdom, Nicole reflects on lessons learned about delegation and communication. She shares, “don’t assume because of how things were at the school you were at before that at the new school you’re going to it will be the same, especially in international schools. And also, delegate and communicate with your team as early as possible when you’re taking on something new.”
