American School of Madrid Inaugurates New Athletics Complex, Science Center

Over 150 distinguished guests, parents, friends, current and former faculty and staff members, and alumni were present at the inauguration ceremony for the American School of Madrid’s (ASM) new Athletics Complex and O’Hale Center for the Sciences last December.
The morning proceeded smoothly with the prompt arrival of United States Ambassador James Costos, who performed the cutting of the ribbon, marking the start of a new age in ASM’s athletic and science programs.
Immediately after the ribbon-cutting, all guests were invited to tour the new buildings and view a slide show on the evolution of science and athletics at ASM. We had a full house in the auditorium, and were delighted that the lower school students were able to join us for this event.
During the Dedication Ceremony, board members, major donors and key members of our community were recognized for their invaluable contributions to ASM’s Building for the Future campaign. These distinguished members each received a commemorative bronze desk plaque, as a small token of our immense appreciation.
A cocktail reception and light-hearted photo shoot awaited everyone in the DaVinci Center for Creativity and Innovation, where guests from ASM’s past, present, and future came together to celebrate the culmination of this ambitious project.
