American International School of Muscat inaugurates the Donald and Eloise Bosch Center for the Performing Arts
The Donald and Eloise Bosch Center for the Performing Arts at The American International School of Muscat (TAISM) was inaugurated in a concert for parents and students last spring.
In addition to Eloise Bosch and members of her family, Richard Schmierer, U.S. Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, attended the Center’s opening event, which included performances by the High School Bands and Choirs. TAISM dedicated this exciting new facility to Dr. and Mrs. Bosch, in honor of their 50+ years of service to Oman’s medical and educational institutions.
Recently completed on the TAISM campus in Ghala, the Bosch Center for the Performing Arts includes over 4,000 square meters of performance and audience space and seating for 522. The development of the school’s campus was designed to accommodate this spacious enhancement to the academic and activity programs. The Bosch Center serves as a showcase of the arts for the school community, and provides an exceptional venue in Oman for approved local and international performances. TAISM’s state-of-the-art theater will thus host drama productions, choral and instrumental concerts, art exhibits, and all formal occasions on the campus.
An expansive lobby, consistent with the iconic entry rotundas of TAISM’s architecture, is suitable for visual art exhibits and receptions and opens onto an outdoor Alumni Garden plaza.
The construction of the Bosch Center now connects three contiguous performance spaces on campus: the Bosch Center for the Performing Arts, the Saud Bahwan Performance Hall, and the National Drilling and Services Company (NDSC) Outdoor Amphitheater.
The American International School of Muscat enrolls 725 students from over 50 nationalities.
