The American International School of Libreville (AISL), hosted its first high school graduation ceremony last May in Libreville, Gabon. Four members of the class of 2014 crossed the stage to receive their diplomas!
AISL has been in operation over 35 years and for most of these, its educational offerings stopped after Grade 8. With the encouragement of U.S. State Department two years ago, we brought on the upper grades and the opportunity to graduate our first class in 2014.
The current staff worked very hard to ensure that a high-quality educational program was in place for these students, and to meet or exceed the standards and expectations of an MSA-accredited school.
The four graduating seniors come from varied and interesting backgrounds, and all have plans for furthering their education.
Mahima Gupta will return to India and enroll at Dayalbagh Educational Institute shortly after graduation. Marta Alves will be continuing her studies at Queen Mary University in London. Nabila Alawi will attend the Veterinary School of Medicine in Madrid, Spain starting in the fall. Last but not least, Victor Goulon has been accepted by the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, where he will study hotel management.
The staff and community are very proud of these graduating seniors, wishing them continued success in their new academic adventures!
