ELLEN DEITSCH STERN is the new Director at the American Embassy School in New Delhi, India starting July 2016. Ms. Stern was a teacher, principal, and head of an independent school in the US before going overseas. Following eight years as director of the Anglo-American School in Moscow and St Petersburg, she has served as the interim head of school in ten schools in the last thirteen years. In 2013, she was the recipient of the Ernest Mannino International Superintendent of the Year Award. Ms. Stern is a graduate of Harvard/Radcliffe and has an MA degree from Teachers College of Columbia University
