Rob Brewitt Retires

Rob Brewitt began his education career as a guidance counselor at Triton School in Massachusetts and then moved to Stavanger, Norway where he was the school counselor, taught Psychology and Sociology, and served as Athletic Director. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees of Education at Springfield College in Massachusetts and his Doctorate of Education degree from Washington State University in 1994. Dr. Brewitt has been in a position of leadership in International Schools since 1973 as a Principal and Superintendent in Thailand, Norway, Austria, and Holland. He was Principal and then Superintendent at ISB (Bangkok) from 1983–1994, being instrumental in the building of the new ISB campus in 1992 and the introduction of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program there. Rob was also head of the Vienna International School in 1994–1995. In 1995, he became one of the founding members of Northbridge Communities (1995–2006) building new schools (NISC, ISE) and housing estates in Cambodia and Vietnam. Dr. Brewitt was involved in the founding of ISE in 1993/94 as he helped to design the school campus, develop the curriculum, and hire the initial faculty. He then returned to ISE in November 2006, where he has served double-duty as Superintendent and High School Principal (2006–2015). During his career, Rob has been a strong supporter of the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS), serving as President and Board member (1998–2002), as well as a member of the International Schools Association of Thailand (ISAT) Executive Committee and chair of the Membership & Operations Committee. Although he will continue to sit on the ISE Board of Directors representing Northbridge, he is excited to move to Florida with his wife and fellow retiree Tara Brewitt to be closer to his family and begin the next stage of their adventure together.

As an alumnus of the International Schooll Bangok (Salutatorian, Class of 1985), I can say that it was great to have Rob Brewitt as Principal/ Superintendent. I wish I had known that he was Head of the VIS from 1994-95. In any case: best wishes from Markus in Vienna, Austria.

We had worked together with Dr. Rob Brewitt for Northbridge International Community and NISC (Northbridge International School Cambodia) at the hard time in Cambodia.
I would be very happy if I could have current contacts of Dr. Rob.
