The Newspaper for International Educators
News and articles
Recent articles in TIE have covered issues as varied as the trauma of moving, AIDS education, SAT scores, whole language, and teacher empowerment. Provocative editorials and op ed features stimulate discussion on topics such as accreditation, the role of school boards, and curriculum reform.
Professional Development
TIE is a valuable resource for school heads seeking professional staff development opportunities for their staff. The Principals Training Center for International School Leadership has it's own section, and masters' programs, summer courses and IB workshops are features in every issue.
Personal News
Each issue of TIE contains several pages of personal and professional news on international educators - Who's doing what? Who's going where? International educators are a uniquely cohesive but far-flung community, and TIE has become the vehicle for keeping up with old friends and acquaintances.
International School News
TIE publishes articles on international school programs, activities, problems, and achievements: a new computer program in Santo Domingo, a special anniversary celebration in Japan, community service in RIO, a school-wide music program in Saudi Arabia, a young authors' festival in Budapest. All have been featured in TIE.
Schools and individuals are invited to submit news, articles, or information for publication. Typed articles, double spaced, of 500 - 800 words should be submitted to The Editor: Sherry Calef, email: tiedit@aol.com
